I vividly remember the moment that I fell in love with midwifery, during my second pregnancy while receiving incredible care from a loving midwife. I came to her broken from my first birth experience, which had left me feeling powerless. Her trust in me grew my confidence in my body's ability to birth my baby. My birth experience showed me just how much power I had living inside of me and I knew that my life's work needed to be walking alongside people as they discover their own.
I have 5 children, each with their own unique birth stories which include a cesarean, 3 homebirths, and a homebirth transfer. This wide range of experiences gives me a framework in which I can better serve my clients. Because of my history, I have a special place in my heart for those who desire a homebirth and have a cesarean(s) as part of their history.
I became a doula in 2013, always with the goal of becoming a midwife. In 2016, after serving many families as a doula, I took the leap and started midwifery school. Throughout my apprenticeship, I trained with multiple midwives, including Jen and Meredith at Fig Midwifery, and gained all the benefits that come from learning from many different perspectives. In 2021, I graduated from Midwives College of Utah and joined Fig Midwifery as a licensed midwife.
My free time is typically spent with my family and close friends. In the summer, I get outside as much as possible with the river (any river) being my family's usual hang. In the winter you may see me at a Salem coffee shop reading, journaling, or doing a color-by-number (just a few of my favorite winter introvert activities). If you do, feel free to say hi!
